I know, more reading! To celebrate my
first blog sale...I'm so excited to say that we're (you and I!) are
donating 10% of this sales' total proceeds to this cause that I recently
found out about and I'll explain a little bit about why (I will wait
one month from the beginning of the sale and then one month every month
after, I know it's not a lot, but maybe someday I can afford to do a lot
more!).
From the site: Milo's Sanctuary is a place for the cats that
cannot be rehomed. Their promise to them is that when we rescue them they
will have a safe and loving environment to spend the rest of their
lives in.
Milo's Sanctuary is here: http://www.milossanctuary.org/Home.html
About Helen!! My baby was found blind in
an alley and nursed back to partial sight...while we were posting photos
of our fur babies in our nail group, I saw so many others loving their
blind animals just as much.
Everyday I look at Helen in total wonder--she
doesn't know she's blind and I am amazed at how she, unlike most people,
myself included, is able to find joy, fun, curiosity, or peace, in
every little detail of life.
I know others feel the same about their
furry friends and for this reason, I so appreciate a place that cares
for these animals that would otherwise be euthanized.

8/8/12 Cause Update! Okay peeps, So I'd like to wait to hit the $5 mark at least before making a donation. It's enough to buy a nice kitty toy or food for a few days depending on how much and what a kitty eats!

8/13/12 Thanks to everyone who has viewed my blog and blog sale and those who have bought polish from my blog sale and other polish sales! First $5 donation has been made (a little more than 10% of sales, was aiming for 10%) :) Since my blog is still in its learning and growing mode I've been considering doing different causes/organizations just depending on...things. I would never want to get political and divide polish-lovers so that could be challenging...I don't really think anyone *hates* animals, and I've got my eye on a South China Tiger rescue ;)

http://lacqrebel.blogspot.com/2012/08/at-least-as-good-as-nail-mail.html check out this wonderful letter they sent me!
Good news! Since I sold more polishes on my blog sale (Got lazy and didn't really add it all up this time, it wasn't quite $50 worth, but a good amount, at least $20) that I would donate another ten percent though, like I said it maybe wound up being more than ten, but $5 only goes so far for kitties, so I figured I might as well go ahead and pass on the good fortune, joy, and peace of polish sales :) Thanks everyone for the support, sales, and polish joy! Next sale coming soon!
Go to Milo's Sanctuary to check out their darling cat of the month, Magic :)

Update! I realize I haven't updated this section in awhile but I got another letter from the last donation--and now I can't find it :( I am a bad person--all I could find was this not cute letter.
Er, yeah.
One of the things I'm always admiring about her is that even though she's had troubles with her eyes and still has scar tissue, her immune system was able to not only fight off her infection enough to save her eyes, but also that they stayed so HUGE and luminous. She has the biggest pair of eyes I can remember seeing on a cat--it might just be because she's a kitten :) I love her orb-like eyes.
