nail mail

I just wanted to put something up as I got a ton of nail mail last month. Too much, probably :)

I got this, NYX Girls Luscious Green, because it's supposed to be a dupe of China Glaze Moonpool. 

I really liked it on and it actually got some compliments from others. The wear wasn't great but everything else was pretty good about the polish.

Another new one, though apparently not even the newest (slow down, people!!), it seems I just can't keep up with new kittens and school. But I didn't want to keep going until it reached an entire month without a post. This beautiful black polish from the Zoya Pixie Dust collection is called Dahlia and was gifted from a lovely polish friend. 

I sort of held off on posting because I wanted to take a shot of the bottle before I posted it and I couldn't find it when I was taking pictures *kicks self* bottle shot to come. In the bottle it just looks like a boring black and silver glitter polish.

These Pixie Dust polishes seem to really sparkle when the light catches them and then dull a little in the shade, giving two different looks. My boyfriend commented on the black several times and actually seemed sad when I took this one off, "it's like you've got asphalt on your nails!" Cute. 

jo'mean it's only $7?!

I was lucky to find this and a couple other Illamasquas for $7 at the JCP Sephora sale! Awesome! 

After seeing getting this for a friend and seeing many swatches, I actually thought it was a purple that might work for me and a gorgeous color in general. One of those "neon pastels" that is so interesting. I think they describe it as "electric lilac." 

Formula? Perfection. Color? Amazing--a bit hard to get a good pic, better to see in person.

Not really a fan of any of my glitter attempts. Did the crop to give an idea of how it looks sans toppings.

Another textured polish from Zoya, Vespa from the Pixie Dust collection in a pale celadon or maybe pale pistachio that I feel like I've been seeing a lot of lately in polishes and otherwise.

Best application I've had from a Zoya yet. I even liked it a bit sheer in one coat, so I did one coat on one hand and two on the other. I had someone remark on how sparkly it was, even in dim lighting. I did really enjoy wearing this one and it wore quite well. Can't wait to try the black one!

holo gradient fail

It'll make me feel better to point out just a FEW things wrong about this--did I even clean this up? Didn't I know you're supposed to take pictures of holos in the sun? This makes me sad. Anyway, my original plain Cherubic nails chipped to fast to get pics and it had been really grey here. So...craptastic. Jacked up. Sorry. 

These Color Club Halo Hues holos are really holo and really cheap. I used an aqua base here. 

The layers are Jade Seducao Rose, China Glaze L8R G8R (nearly invisible), and Color Club Cherubic.

I haven't really seen swatches for this yet and don't have any, but it's way better in person than the few pics I've seen online and in the sun, holy jeez. Check out these bottle shots (in a stupid format I can't fix) of Enchanted February 2013. I'd love to see some swatches from others!

I'm SO BORED

With everything else--so I really hope I have time to do my nails tonight :) and so on that note, let's start the month off right, with this new Liquid Sand from OPI, called The Impossible, I think. 

One of the only blue-based (it is, right?) pinks I've ever works on me, ever. It reminds me so much of cherry chapstick brand chapstick. I was expecting to hate this, but it was way more beautiful than I expected and wore really well. Not too bad to remove, either. I'm wondering if any of the other texture polishes drastically differ in their look or feel.
