Another quick one from CbL in the original bottle (the full size one), though you can't tell because I forgot to take bottle shots on both posts--good job. Hopefully I'll remember to add some.

Bad is a chrome metallic duochrome shimmer that morphs from multiple colors--grey, blue, violet, even a bit of green with fine pink and turquoise sort of and maybe other colors of shimmer, check closeups for shimmer. Both time this polish chipped on me overnight, I've found wear on most metallics to not be great, though.

Woman from Tokyo. Sunlight.
Finals are over and I'm looking forward to to having some downtime to take pictures and posting.

I made two orders from Llarowe (though only one went through) and came away with some of her beautiful holo polishes.

First up is Woman from Tokyo, a beautiful, dark eggplant-ish purple with a deep linear holographic finish.

The formula was a bit thick on this, but the staying power was pretty decent and the effect is dazzling.

On the rocks

After an unintended hiatus for midterms and finals (this class has a lot of tests!) Here's a new liquid sand that I didn't like as much as I thought. It chipped a little too quickly (though maybe it's me and the dry weather) and lost its texture, or did I imagine that?

The sunlight brings out more shimmer depth (golds, pinks, and other colors). I'm wondering how others are feeling about recent OPI collex...I'm not sure how I'm feeling about a lot of the recent OPI collections including San Francisco and Holiday (so much red), but I am really wanting to get the holiday sands! PS. Is this my first "blurple?" I think yes.

Yes, they're real...

thank you, they're genetic and unattainable. While some things, like a Van Damme middle split may be, I don't believe lovely spike-ish nails to be. However, they may be inconvenient and inappropriate for one's lifestyle.

I could write a novel on my relationship with my nails and our trials and errors and the ridiculous things I've done to try and keep them in shape.

In my opinion, asking a nail fanatic who is trying to grow hers (or his) out if one's nails are natural is the highest of compliments. This is when I know I have succeeded ;)

I remembered Teas-y Does It is the last color I wore before our very painful break up :(

Some pre-break spam.

Lynnderella Deep Blue Seeing (I think!?), a Milani white.

Sally Hansen Garnet Lapis Prism, OPI Black Onyx

Lynnderella Bride of Franken, OPI Mrs. O' Leary's BBQ

And in September:
Breaking up is hard to do.

Noticeably, they are the longest in this last picture and that of course compromises their strength. And while I did like the way they looked at the time, I have to admit looking at the picture, perhaps they were maybe about 3mm too long. I can their weak spots in the pic and that makes me sad :(

They've been growing back pretty well, but I still feel like I'm wearing nubs.

What was your worst break? What finger was it on? Nail friends and myself seem to concur they happen on pointer and thumbs. Not surprisingly, these seem to be the most frequently used fingers.

Such a Tease

Teas-y Does It is a color that actually did tease me in photographs for quite awhile. I was pretty sure it wouldn't look good on my short nails (though I am rethinking that now) and it looked so different in different lighting and swatches that I wasn't sure if it was right for me. When I got it in a swap though, I marveled at it's beauty in the bottle.

It has an inner glow that lends a beautiful color shift brown-burgundy red-violet purple and has a shimmer/glass fleck that is either red or gold. Which is it? I don't know, both? Anyway, definitely worth having. I hope to acquire more from this collection, it's one of OPI's best in the recent years, imo.

Beyond

Exhausted. What a month. I've wanted to post more and actually have a decent store of pictures, but it's been a fairly harrowing month, I think I've earned the use of that word. My nails have also been breaking left and right (pun intended) so they'll be looking a bit more nubbinly than normal.

Here's a lovely holo from Color Club's Halo Hues collection. It looks a bit darker in some photos than it is, it's a bit more charcoal than black, maybe. The formula is amazing on these holos, better wearing and more holo than its cousin Revvvolution.

Enchanting

This polish looks like magic in a bottle. I had to have it and I'm so anxiously awaiting the next Enchanted restock. It's over black here and I think that makes it look a bit more potent. I'm lazy, so that was a pain, but it only took took coats after that and it was just striking indoor and out. I don't think I've ever had more compliments...pic heavy.

Orly Matte FX Collection

This collection did not catch my eye at Sally's, but my bf decided to come in that night and for some reason he got very excited over this (so sweet) and I'm glad he did.

With the creative name of "Pink Flakie Top Coat" (an easy to apply, two-coater, matte rainbow flakie top coat) we got these gorgeous results over OPI Black Onyx.

I hope to do more pics and I think I will because I definitely plan on wearing this magical combo again soon.

Vampy Vesper

Vesper is my last bond girl Liquid Sand from OPI, I thought I had posted it, but I hadn't. I think this might be surprise my favorite. My bf picked this out. It looks really ugly and brown in the bottle--but don't be fooled ;) The black glitter effect in the dark purple sheer polish is just beautiful and gem-like.

I think it takes about 18 hours to dry into the gorgeous blackened purple--so give it a chance before dismissing it as a plain black. The longer it dries, the lighter it gets. I've worn it twice already and I love it. It takes 2-3 coats to get fully opaque.

Pardon the tip wear.

Htf Gem

It's been pretty quiet around here lately except that I got a new follower--HELLO!!! New follower and thank you :D YAY!!! I literally would wear the same polish as long as there was no chipping for four or five days in summer school, I just did not have time to change it. Sometimes I didn't have time to take a picture either, so I don't have a lot of pics right now.

I'm feeling really bummed about my physiology class right now, as I just generally feel like my brain isn't working.

But here's Brucci Black Emerald, a stunning duo/multichrome that goes from black to reddish brownish to blackened green and reddish green. Hard to capture and hard to describe, but gorgeous. Two coats over one coat of Sephora OPI Never Enough Shoes.

Yours Truly

All the way from the Land Down Undah, Lilypad Lacquer presents True Blood, a deep (blood) red/burgundy/wine/sometimes plummy looking holographic polish. I had been envisioning a polish like this for months when I finally saw this sparkly gem and realized I'd have to order it from Australia, nbd. Also now available on Llarowe.

Sometime I realized that what I may have been looking for was a dupe for EP's Vampire's Dessert, which this definitely isn't. It's much bluer, where Vampire's is browner. This polish is 100% beautiful in it's own right and I may even like it more!

Always Room For

Hot chocolate.

I haven't had a lot of time to post lately, as my 9-hour/4-day per week school schedule was getting the best of me in a sleepy way. However, there's always room for hot chocolate, particularly Enchanted's Hot Chocolate. Here's a redo of the original. Three coats.

A big thank you! :)

This is a very special post! I want to give a big thank you to all my facebook friends for voting for me and the amazingly talented Wing Dust Collections. She can be found on facebook as well, here https://www.facebook.com/WingDustCollections and at Llarowe.

I actually won this polish! I've never won anything that I can think of. I want to say thank you to Wing Dust for this generous gift and I hope the creator feels these pictures do her amazing and entirely unique creation, Steel Town Girl, justice.

I have to say that for a holo and for any polish really, the application on this was just flawless. I used Nfu-Oh aqua base, but I didn't have to. It was a smooth application, even with the beautiful steel blue shards and generous helping of chunky gold flakes.

Another crazy thing about this polish I would not have expected was the staying time. I wore this for four days with no chipping or peeling O.o whaaaaa? Unheard of with a holo. I did use G+G Hk Girl topcoat.

It is much more holo-y irl, and in the light box for some reason it did not photograph as holo as out of the lightbox (click to make bigger!!).
